What is a dedicated IP?

A Dedicated IP sets the port of your Minecraft server address to the default for your Minecraft edition:

Minecraft Java Edition default port: 25565
Minecraft Bedrock Edition default port: 19132

With a dedicated IP, you no longer need to enter the port of your server address to be able to join your server.

For example, without a dedicated IP, your server address may look like 192.123.4.5:25603. You need to provide both the server IP (192.123.4.5) and port (25603) so that you can connect to your Minecraft Java or Bedrock Edition server. With a dedicated IP, you only have to enter 192.123.4.5 and you will still be able to connect successfully to your server.

Additionally, with a Dedicated IP, because your server is running on the default port, it makes it easier to setup and more reliable when you are using domain (e.g. example.com) or subdomain (e.g. mc.example.com) as your server address.
