How to Use Simple Voice Chat on Your Minecraft Server
Simple Voice Chat is a mod/plugin that adds a proximity voice chat feature to your Minecraft server.
This is available for a wide variety of server types, either as a mod or plugin, so make sure to download the correct version of Simple Voice Chat that matches your Minecraft server type before you install Simple Voice Chat.
Download Simple Voice Chat for your server type.
Spigot / Paper / Craftbukkit: Download Simple Voice Chat plugin
Forge: Download Simple Voice Chat mod
NeoForge: Download Simple Voice Chat mod
Fabric: Download Simple Voice Chat mod
Other Versions: Download Simple Voice Chat plugin
Log in to your control panel account here: RAMShard Server Control Panel
From the left side menu, navigate to Files > Config Files.
Open Server Settings (server.properties). Locate the enable-query option and change this to false. Then click Save at the bottom of the page.
Install the Simple Voice Chat mod or plugin JAR, the same way you would install any mod or plugin.
For Craftbukkit (Bukkit), Spigot, Paper, and Bungeecord, upload the JAR file in your plugins folder. (How to Install Plugins)
For Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric server, upload the JAR file in your mods folder. (How to Install Mods)
Restart your server for the plugin/mod files to load.
From the Simple Voice Chat configuration file, change the port value to your server's port. For example, if your server address is 198.111.111.111:55555, the port you will use for Simple Voice Chat is 55555. Check our guide below on how to locate the Simple Voice Chat configuration file depending on your server type.
Restart your server once again for the changes to take effect.
Simple Voice Chat should now be installed on your server!
In your server directory, navigate to plugins > voicechat folder and edit the voicechat-server.properties file.
